Biography

Professor Wei Li has acquired over 20 years’ experience in congenital heart disease and echocardiography. She is the clinical lead for echocardiography in adult congenital heart disease for pulmonary hypertension at Royal Brompton Hospital.

Prior, she studied at Peking Union Medical College where she received her MD and a PhD at Imperial College and was awarded the Fielding Medical Scholarship.

 

Clinical expertise

Professor Wei Li’s clinical and academic interests include:

  • echocardiography in adult congenital heart disease
  • pulmonary arterial hypertension
  • heart disease and pregnancy.

 

Publications

Professor Wei Li co-authored Echocardiography in Adult Congenital Heart Disease in 2007. She has also contributed to several cardiology textbooks including chapters in Adult Congenital Heart Disease: Diagnosis and Management, the world’s best-selling title in this division.

In addition, Professor Wei Li has produced over 90 peer-viewed publications, including a considerable number in leading international journals.

Teaching

Professor Wei Li is well-renowned as a leading educator for her work in training and developing staff in adult congenital heart disease practice and echocardiography.

She frequently speaks and participates at many leading national and international cardiology conferences. This includes one of the most established international conference in adult congenital heart disease; the Advanced Symposium on Congenital Heart Disease in the Adult.
