This webinar, hosted by Dr Neeti Ghali, focuses on genomics and genetic testing in aortovascular conditions.

Learning Objectives

  1. understand the concept of genomics and the difference between genetics and genomics
  2. understand the genetic basis of different aortovascular conditions
  3. consider when genetic testing may be appropriate and complexities around genetic testing
  4. review the clinical utility of genetic testing for the patient’s ongoing surveillance and management and for family members
  5. consider other technologies and factors that may be relevant in the management of these conditions eg. epigenetics

Dr Neeti Ghali Background

Dr Neeti Ghali sees patients with suspicion of a rare hereditary connective tissue disorder. She specialises in aortovascular conditions, for example, patients who have had an aneurysm and/or dissection at a young age, without obvious risk factors or a cause. Patients may also be considered if they are concerned about a strong family history of aneurysms.
