Overview

This talk provides guidance on how to counsel women at any age, with or without cardiac problems when they wish to become pregnant.

The speakers will cover different clinical scenario along with data, including women who want to get pregnant via IVF, and indicate when to refer to specialist care.

EXPERT

Dr Claudia Montanaro is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals who specialises in congenital heart disease, heart valve disease, and heart disease in pregnancy.

Professor Michael Gatzoulis is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, with clinical interests including pulmonary arterial hypertension, heart valve disease, adult congenital heart disease, pregnancy and heart disease, management of heart failure and reoperations.

Dr Isma Rafiq is a consultant cardiologist lead for pregnancy and heart disease at the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals.

 

Professor Mark Johnson is a consultant obstetrician at Imperial College London, with his research interests in preterm labour and heart disease in pregnancy.
