Overview

A series on structural heart interventions, this talk aims to understand the anatomy of a range of structural heart defects.

An overview of the update on current practice (guidelines) and imaging modalities is presented whilst aligned with patient section criteria and illustrating procedural techniques and case studies.

 

CONTENT
Learning objectives
  • Understand anatomy of atrial septal defects (ASDs).
  • Anatomical correlations aid better understanding and assessment of the heart defect as seen on imaging.
  • Update on current guidelines relevant to interventions on the defect.
  • Discuss patient selection criteria.
  • To illustrate procedural techniques and case studies.
EXPERT

Dr Ee Ling Heng is an adult congenital and structural interventional cardiologist specialising in structural and ACHD interventional procedures.

Professor S Yen H is a consultant cardiac morphologist, studying the structure of the heart to better understand congenital and pathological cardiac anatomy.

Professor Wei Li is a consultant in adult congenital heart disease echocardiography and has acquired over 20 years’ experience in the fields.
