Consultant Interview Series

We are introducing the new ‘Consultant Interview Series‘ with a sit down with Hatem Soliman Aboumarie, consultant in cardio-thoracic intensive care, clinical lead for organ donation and clinical lead for advanced critical care practitioners at Harefield Hospital.

He talks us through his career journey from Egypt to the UK and how he came about deciding his medical specialty.

Dr Aboumarie also shares his biggest learning and advice to young medical students just starting out.

Dr Soliman Aboumarie

In addition to this role at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, he is an honorary senior lecturer at the School of Cardiovascular Medicine and Sciences at King’s College London.

Dr Aboumarie is an elected member of the executive board and councillor for echocardiography at the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) of the European Society of Cardiology for the term 2022-2024.

Just followed a lecture on Congenital Heart Disease by Dr. Beverly Tsai and I really enjoyed it. It was very enlightening. It is amazing to see how some of our patients developed their conditions. I learned so much!
