Specialises in menstrual disorders and benign gynaecology, and high-risk obstetrics.
Biography

Miss Jess McMicking is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and sees patients at Wimpole Street.

She underwent her specialist training in Australia prior to her selection for a fellow at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital to complete her fellowship in obstetrics and gynaecology.

She studied:

  • Bachelor of Health Science/ Nutrition, Queensland University of Technology
  • Bachelor of Medicine/ Surgery, Griffith University
  • Fellowship of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG).

 

Clinical expertise

Miss Jess McMicking brings an amplitude of experience in pre-existing and gestational diabetes, nutritional conditions and high-risk obstetrics. In addition, she is a university-qualified nutritionist, allowing her to provide tailored holistic care.

She is a member of:

  • Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
  • Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Fellowship)
  • British Maternal and Fetal Medicine Society
  • British Intrapartum Care Society
  • McDonald Obstetric Medicine Society.

 

Research interests

Miss Jess McMicking is committed to delivering quality improvement projects within the NHS. She continuously has numerous projects which include streamlining postnatal pathway for women with hypertension in pregnancy, enhance recovery in elective caesarean sections and improving efficiency in management plans for heavy menstrual bleeding.

Publications

Miss Jess McMicking leads on numerous service projects and continues to internationally publish articles.

Teaching

Miss Jess McMicking is an educational supervisor to Guy’s and St Thomas’s speciality trainees, additionally King’s college medical students.

She also presents at international conferences.
