Optimising sleep and sleep disordered breathing

This webinar will cover sleep and sleep disorders and will be hosted by Shruthi Konda,  Consultant in respiratory medicine at Royal Brompton hospital.

Sleep is crucial for good health and wellbeing. It helps with cognition and forming memories. It helps maintain your metabolism and encourages the body to heal. Good sleep can sometimes be elusive. This talk will give insights into how one can achieve optimum sleep. It will also help you understand the common pathologies affecting breathing during sleep – namely obstructive sleep apnoea and obesity hypoventilation syndrome. We will go through the symptoms, diagnosis and management of these conditions.

Learning objectives:

  1. Why is sleep important
  2. What to tell your patients that they need to do in order to achieve optimum sleep
  3. Symptoms, diagnosis and management of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
  4. Symptoms, diagnosis and management of Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome
  5. What does the DVLA have to say about sleep disordered breathing

This webinar will be of interest to GPs and any healthcare practitioners managing sleep related respiratory problems in a primary care setting.

A CPD certificate of attendance will be supplied to all attendees.
